Smallness must have entered our account of the rooster from elsewhere. It remains recognizable at a size that undoes the arrangements made for it. We still know where to lay a hand. Some part of recognition has evidently never consulted the measurements.
From the height of the body carrying us, we can look away from the ground it must attend to. What becomes visible is then credited to our sight, with scarcely a trace of the creature’s part in it. Our gaze may even turn against the direction of travel. This causes no immediate difficulty. The feet beneath us continue to find their places, and the hand can remain at rest.
