Ritratto in foglia
CAEDMON / WORK #114

Ritratto in foglia

We had allowed the covering to take its measure from the body. Nothing in that allowance restricted what it could do with the measure. It might preserve the turn of a shoulder and carry that turn into a growth for which the shoulder had no use.

She is still the one addressed. Her name reaches her without requiring everything continuous with her to answer. Some of what follows her outline now has its own conditions of flourishing. We cannot assign these to her merely because no break is visible where they begin. The hand retains enough room for a gesture; a separation along the whole arm has not been necessary.

This work is born from the fusion of two parents: it inherits their forms, style, colours and ideas in a new visual identity. While living in the pool, it can pass these traits to further children. Instagram likes contribute to its chance of reproducing.
