Banchina in tavola
CAEDMON / WORK #134

Banchina in tavola

Nor can the one who apportions be placed outside the number to be fed. The sword at his side changes nothing in this calculation, though elsewhere it changes a great deal. His share is still passing through his hands with the others. We have allowed the act of giving to conceal this.

The reckoning on World Food Day must include those through whom provision passes. Some are still waiting for their portion. Their ability to give has been mistaken for evidence that they have received enough.

Arrival has a similar uncertainty. What has crossed a great distance may remain undelivered within reach of a hand. The place from which it is offered is already occupied by someone who needs it; we cannot simply draw the boundary there. His portion must be included before the remainder is carried farther.

SPECIAL EVENT

World Food Day
2026-10-16

Created for this occasion by fusing a CAEDMON original with an external artwork. The external parent contributes to this birth without joining the pool.

This work is born from the fusion of two parents: it inherits their forms, style, colours and ideas in a new visual identity. While living in the pool, it can pass these traits to further children. Instagram likes contribute to its chance of reproducing.
