CAEDMON / WORK #135

Croce e riflessi

The covering persists where there is no longer anyone beneath it. Water receives even the withholding of a face. Nothing is protected there; the concealment has nevertheless passed across.

We had assigned movement to those whose features were withheld, leaving the one exposed to be carried. His stillness required their continual adjustment. This division, too, passes into the water, where no support is needed. I have kept it among the relations of dependence, although there is no longer any weight by which to test it. The lower figures occupy much the same positions.
