The body that has come forth is separate enough to turn towards something its bearer cannot see. Its place is still being supplied. In the earlier reckoning we assigned that place to the body itself, as though departure had also furnished a ground. Raising the two together leaves the account uncorrected.
The bearer makes small adjustments whenever the other turns. These were left out of the measurement, which concerned only their height above the others.
