Giogo e sciabola
CAEDMON / WORK #255

Giogo e sciabola

The earlier work had to continue inside what superseded it. This was scarcely noticed, since the new arrivals counted from the moment of their arrival. What sustained them belonged, in their account, to a time they had already left.

The oxen could not be placed so easily. Their labour was ancient; the effort had to be made that morning. Joined at the shoulders, they brought forward together what had been assigned to different ages. A hesitation in either body reached the other before it could become a separate event.

We have allowed too much distance between things on the evidence that one came after another. Some of that distance must be subtracted wherever the later thing still draws upon the earlier. The subtraction is considerable in the case of food. It must be made again the following morning.

This work is born from the fusion of two parents: it inherits their forms, style, colours and ideas in a new visual identity. While living in the pool, it can pass these traits to further children. Instagram likes contribute to its chance of reproducing.
