Taglio aureo
CAEDMON / WORK #74

Taglio aureo

The allowance for swallowing had been included in the measure. We had counted it among the other intervals. Its size gave us no reason to distinguish it.

The pattern could continue beyond the wearer, retaining the divisions it had possessed against the skin. Elsewhere, an equal space could receive another division. At the throat it had to be kept available for a movement that had not yet begun. This requirement made no alteration in the ornament; following the ornament outward, we soon lost any means of locating it.

We had measured the collar while it was being worn. The throat was at rest throughout.
