Sotto la stessa maschera
CAEDMON / WORK #209

Sotto la stessa maschera

Even a brief absence requires somewhere for the weight to go. One person can step out of a part and leave it empty; another has a child resting against the place from which the departure would begin. The same invitation reaches both.

An hour has been set aside for United Nations Day in which nobody is required to be useful. Yet certain gestures cannot be interrupted. They enter the celebration still doing what they did outside it. Their admission changes very little until someone else can receive what they hold. Meanwhile the colours of the celebration have already passed over them, making the gathering appear complete.

Receiving would require some care. A burden may be inseparable from an attachment; relieving one can injure the other. The person whose arms are free has room to learn this. At first, the two pairs of hands would have to remain together.

United Nations Day
2026-10-24

Created for this occasion by fusing a CAEDMON original with an external artwork. The external parent contributes to this birth without joining the pool.

This work is born from the fusion of two parents: it inherits their forms, style, colours and ideas in a new visual identity. While living in the pool, it can pass these traits to further children. Instagram likes contribute to its chance of reproducing.
