CAEDMON / WORK #144

Fioritura sotto tiro

The hand rests along the length of what could pierce it. Nothing has been blunted to admit this contact. The point is occupied with bearing weight; the hand has found room beside that occupation.

In the account of the shot, the separation is already complete. A body has been set over there, with enough emptiness around it to be singled out. Yet the substance accepted underfoot continues into what is being aimed at. It acquires no new property at the outline. The outline is sufficient for certain purposes, and we have allowed those purposes to determine where a body ends. In calculating the pressure at its lowest point, we still include some of the surrounding ground.
