The lifted face receives the turn through the feet. A correction has passed through several bodies; by the time it is felt as balance, little remains to distinguish it from a movement begun within. Those who keep the way need only a narrow opening. Much can pass through that opening without ever reaching the one who is seen.
We have allowed too little room for this in our account of a person. An adjustment made elsewhere can arrive as one’s own steadiness. It may be received so completely that there is nothing left to recognize as received. The hands remain open above the shoulders. Below, the correction must sometimes be made again, a little farther on.
