Some of these choices keep the one above so nearly still that they leave no trace in what is said. They are easy to omit. Yet the steadiness belongs to both, and belongs differently to each. To count it twice would also be wrong. A small correction below may take the whole weight for a moment; the person being carried need not interrupt a sentence. We have yet to assign that moment a place among the actions.
