The hollow was an unnecessary assumption. We had allowed a thing to receive another only by surrendering some of its fullness. Yet a covering can make room while remaining attached to what it covers; a feather can enter into the enclosure of a second body without ceasing to belong to the first.
This requires two accounts of the same edge. One follows the attachment, the other the extent of the shelter. They agree for a while. Where the covering turns back upon itself, someone may rest between the two accounts. The weight must be included in both, though only one can explain how it arrived.
