Corde tra le ossa
The accompaniment bears some of the weight of our looking elsewhere. Our fingers remain occupied; we have ceased, for a moment, to attend to what they do. The others make this possible without taking over our part. An account of the act that ends at the wrist leaves out much of what permits the hand to continue.
On the Day of the Dead, remembrance must allow for these intervals. To make the dead wholly dependent on our attention would leave them unable to accompany us: we would have to turn towards them at every note. They have their own part to attend to. We may look away, still playing, and return to find that a small adjustment is needed. It can be made by someone farther back.

Created for this occasion by fusing a CAEDMON original with an external artwork. The external parent contributes to this birth without joining the pool.
This work is born from the fusion of two parents: it inherits their forms, style, colours and ideas in a new visual identity. While living in the pool, it can pass these traits to further children. Instagram likes contribute to its chance of reproducing.
